FOUNTAIN COUNTY HISTORY Submissions
Family History submissions are limited to 5 typewritten 8½” x 11” pages single spaced, one side only per surname (8-10 sheets IF handwritten). This limitation must include any photos submitted.
If submission is generated by computer, the file must be written in Microsoft WORD, Microsoft WORKS, or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf ) format. Computer generated picture submissions should be in .jpg (.jpeg) format. No deviations will be allowed without prior discussion and approval by the committee.
If you, or someone in your family, contributed to the 1983 Fountain County History and you would like to use that entry with updates, that is very acceptable also, so long as you give us written permission to do so, stating either that you were the author, or your relationship to the family if the author is deceased.
Multiple surname submissions are welcome, however, each surname must be separate. Cross referencing is encouraged to tie relationships together. Submissions should be in story form if possible. The use of the pedigree charts and family group sheets are tools to help organize your data. An instruction sheet on their use is also provided. Submissions of only these charts will necessarily need to be converted to story-form entries. Members of our Society will be happy to assist anyone requesting aid in preparing their data.
Make certain that accurate contact information accompanies each submission in case contact needs to be made for clarification of information needs to be made.
The book will be printed in black & white only and any color photos submitted will be reproduced in black/white. Submitted photos will be scanned and size adjusted to fit the needs of the book; i.e. column size, height, width, etc. Photos larger than 8” x 10” cannot be accepted.
The final layout and formatting of this book are at
the sole discretion of the designated committee of the Fountain County Genealogy
Society, Inc. Anticipated
publication date of this book is mid-2013.
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE IN BEFORE JANUARY 30, 2011.
The FCGS cannot be responsible for any typographical
errors contained in submissions. Attempts
will be made to correct any and all that are discovered by contacting the
submitter. IF time permits after
submission and formatting, the submitter may (if requested) be contacted to
proofread their entry(ies) for any needed corrections.
This opportunity will only be possible for submissions made prior
to the January 30, 2011 deadline however.
